Richard Leslie Grant

I met Richard the day I reported aboard the Navy destroyer USS McCard, in 1964. I immediately sensed a person of exceptional ability, leadership, and skill. We were roommates aboard the ship for two years, followed by fifty four more years of continuing friendship. Richard could be very serious and task oriented, but he also was a lot of fun to be with. A beautiful remembrance in his obituary coupled with the photo that shows completely his spirit. That smile whenever he greeted you, lit up your day. We will miss him but he will always be in our thoughts.
