Dick always was a caretaker. I am glad he had his family's presence during his last days. Cancer is unpredictable, taking too many people while they still have much to do.

I met you only once many years ago in Pittsburgh with your sister Jeanette, my very close friend and roommate, way back when we were all young and carefree in Cambridge, Mass. I heard so much about you from your loving sister and now even more from this beautifully and lovingly written obituary and I can see Jeanette's hand in it, With so many different talents and interests and being such a marvelous person all your life, you will not only be solely missed here...
