I only met my cousin Dick once when I was very small. I do know he meant a lot to my mother who regarded him as a brother more than a cousin. I know he will be very much missed.
I light this candle in honor of him.
My condolences to the family.

Dick and Ellie at Cissy's wedding anniversary
I also felt that Dick was my brother. After losing my mother at the age of 12 I went to live with my Aunt Bertha my mother's sister Celia. My memories of Dick are always with me of he and I fighting over the piano in the living room, his sweet but devilish little boy of 8 in his flannel pjs and smelly :)socks. I loved him dearly tho we never saw much of each other in our lives and will miss his emails and face lights up grin. He came to my oldest daughter, Susan's wedding reception years ago...

Steve--
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. I always enjoyed seeing your father's smiling face when I would pass him in the hall at Village Shalom. My mother, Pat Vomhof, thoroughly enjoyed his S'Up discussions and enjoyed hearing his perspectives each week. He always made everyone feel so welcome.
Please be comforted knowing that he looked forward to the time you spent with him attending different activities and delivering...

Dick and I have been writing emails back and forth. We were first cousins but I thought of him like my brother. I loved him dearly and will miss his grin and his messages telling me about the rest of his family and my other cousins and their families. At last he's with his Margie. I hope to be able to attend the funeral, but if I'm not able to, my sympathy goes out to everyone who loved him. We were all lucky to have had him in our lives.
