Not sure what to say?

Dick sold me his Winchester sign, under one condition !!! don't ever sell it.... I won't , I could have many times.. looking at the sign as I write this note.. two of my favorite Winchesters are pre-1964 model 70's. that I bought from Dick. All I can say is Respect !! I had to write something.. miss him .. Tim

I worked for the West Virginia Forestry Division in the 1960's. We were both Assistant District Foresters: he in District IV and I in District V. We both were heavily involved in supervising forest fire suppression during some very tough forest fire seasons. We worked together in developing strategies to improve both fire prevention and suppression techniques. Dick was highly competent.

I knew Dick for 39 years. He was a great boss, teacher and became a great friend over that time.I visited with him last in 2014 and he still had that great big smile and stories about our home state of WV.We always kept in touch by mail or email. He will be greatly missed and if there's a heaven for hunters and dog lovers I'm sure he's there.Farewell my friend.

Dick Was one of the Good Guys in the Antique and collectible Firearms world. We will miss him.

Dick was a great man and will be missed. So very sorry for your loss.

Had a few short visits and quite a few phone calls over the last 12-13 years since my father, his (half) brother died in 2004. Also meant him while he was in his late teens many years ago in Charleston. Always was very friendly to my wife and I when we saw or talked to him. I knew he was struggling the last couple years and was out going to doctors or treatments a lot but he always got back to us as soon as he could, and he never complained about his health. He has been in my thoughts.

My next door neighbor of twenty years. Always a wave and how are you? We would visit at the gun shows. Talks over the fence.

This is how I will always remember my dad.

Always ready for a conversation and always with a story you could relate to or laugh at. It was a privilege to have known him and to have shared a bond of friendship with him. Rest in peace my friend. You will be missed
