Not sure what to say?

Dr. Haan was my professor from’86-‘89. He had a profound influence on me through his “Indians in American History” course. He was my thesis advisor and he was the best and most engaging history teacher at Hartwick. I think of my often and am grateful that he was part of my life.
Blessings to all his loved ones.
-R Natiello, ‘89

Mrs. Haan, Geoff, and Kristin,

I am so very sorry for your loss. I enjoyed his company while I was a part of your lives, and I know that he will be missed terribly. My thoughts are with you.

Dear Geri,

You have my deepest sympathy. My Dick passed away at 62, both of them too young. I'll never forget how Dick commented on everything being so GREEN. That was soon after you all came from California where he said everything was yellow.

Please accept my deepest sympathies.

We were friends of Geoff's in high school. We always remember seeing Richard at the concerts. He especially seemed to enjoy the trumpets from the jazz band. Our thoughts are with you all.

Dear Geri and Family- I am sorry hear about Dr. Haan's passing. I enjoyed his courses and his influences are with me today. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

It has been our privilege and honor at ONRC to meet and know Dr. Haan over these last few months. His transition to a care facility, his dry humor, his unending wisdom and the love for his family touched each of us who came to know him. We thank you, his family, for allowing us the opportunity to know and care for him. Fondly, Beth Cerow, Social Worker

I was so sorry to hear about this. You are in our hearts and prayers. Our deepest condolences to your family in this time.

Dear Geri,
I am so sorry. Every time I see a Native American in print, film or life I think of Dick. He is missed.
