Oh, so sorry to read of Richard's passing in the Mepham HS Alumni "Quarterdeck". I was a childhod friend of his older sister, Linda and spent many after school hours, suppers, and over nights with the Hale family. Of course, Rich being the "little brother", us older girls tried to ignore him. But I always liked him as a person and had a lot of fun being with him. I am sorry to say that we all lost contact over the years. He became a wonderful man, father, and friend to all that knew him....

I was Rich's college roommate Soph. year. We were on the tennis team together for 3 years. Loved our coach Shaw Emmons. Rich was a great guy and un to be around. Sorry to see he passed.

Oh shoot. I just left a VM to have lunch, I knew you were sick buddy but thought you still had some time and I will miss you. The Nam finally got ya. I will see you again one day. I had no idea you "deros" already. I was out of town this summer. Well the salmon population will start to recover.
Love you man, forever!!

So sorry to hear about Rich. I will always remember fishing with him and my grandpa Hank in Alaska.

Rich was a great man who is missed greatly. We had many memorable family times together. His warm smile, calm demeanor and endless questions kept things interesting. Rest in peace Richie

Rich was a friend of my daughter, Kerry, and we spent many good times together including fishing in Alaska. He was a thoughtful and kind man. Sorry for your loss.

Many fond memories of Rich in years past have been intertwined with our family from the various gatherings that we shared. Our very most sincere sympathy to all his family, especially his sons, George, David, Mike and Buck. Rich was an amazing father, it was very clear that he loved his boys immensely. He will be missed.

A donation was received from David Di Lorenzo in memory of Richard to Salmon for Oregon. SFO has posted a link to his memory in our library page at salmonfororegon.org to honor a life long fisherman and family man.
