Not sure what to say?

Dick Halley was a great guy! He could rightly be called "Mr. Oregon" being born in Eastern Oregon and, further, in his role as teacher and administrator at PSU. Halley's role in serving as a Captain in the U.S. Army was also highly commendable. Given such an impeccable record I asked him whether he ever made any mistakes? His answer was an unequivocal "yes-the biggest was the year that he hired me in 1961 to teach economics at PSU." Richard Brinkman

I told my father Hugh Lovell, (who was in the hospital at the time and recently passed) about Dr Halley. My father managed to say "great boss"

Dick Halley was a treasured friend, beginning with the Dahl family's arrival in Oregon in December of 1958. We shall always remember him and his family members. Vic & Beryl

Dick hired me to teach in the PSU department of economics in 1961. He was a gentleman in every sense of the word. And decent. I regret I will be out of town on the occasion of his memorial service. All the best to you, Barbara.

We will miss Dick very much. He was always happy, generous, kind and adventurous. My great-aunt Barbara loved him with all her heart. My condolences to his family and loved ones. Sherril Colombo
