I feel so heartbroken because I did not know that Dick had passed! He was a great boss and friend, and he helped me make some very difficult decisions. Dick, you will always have a place in my heart!! RIP my dear friend!

Everyone that knew my brother was aware of his iconoclastic and irreverent outlook on virtually everything. When I worked for him many years ago we would have long conversations and uncontrollable laughter about the colorful patrons that frequented Geraldine´s lounge. We´d spend hours on the phone matching each others misanthropic satirical views of the Wagon Wheel. But what you couldn´t know is what a wonderful big brother he was in my youth. Dick was a wonderful friend and boss, both at Mingles and Geraldine's in the 80s. I moved away years ago, but every time I went back to visit family, I would specifically look him up to have a good chat, some laughs and a cocktail. He was always the same jovial, cordial person no matter what difficulty he happened to be facing. Thank you for your friendship and guidance all those years ago, and I will always keep your memory alive. Sincere condolences to his family. May he RIP.

I met Richard years ago at the original Geraldine's in West Springfield. We would talk for an hour or so after closing. We talked about everything. He reminded me a lot of my father, very funny and friendly. I enjoyed our talks and he was such a sweet, great man. Richard was Geraldine's and I hope his legacy will continue on, just like my memory of him will.

I have been reading all of the nice things about Dick and all I have to say is they are all true. I dont think he was ever in a bad mood. I did work for him at some of his properties and he always paid me more than I asked. He was the best boss you could ever have and very funny. He came to my mother’s funeral years ago and just being there made me feel better about it. You cannot say enough nice things about a guy like this. He did not like Fox news and i did and we would argue about it lol....
