Carolyn, We were so sorry to hear of Richard's passing away. He was such a great "character". We were privileged to know you both, such a short time, but fell in love with you. Dear Carolyn,

We are all saddened by the loss of Richard Sr.; however, we want you to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. On behalf of the UNC Tar Heel family we will miss and celebrate Richard's life and may your skies be forever Carolina Blue.

You all are in our thoughts and prayers. It is interesting that this Time- came as UNC celebrated their Homecoming . . .rather ironic perhaps. The day stated dark and rainy, but by gametime -the sky was beautiful Carolina Blue- and the HEELS stood with Authority over the Ramblin Wreck of Ga Tech. All for a Homecoming on the Hill, in many ways . . . .
