I worked for Richard early on when I first came to JSC to work in the 60s to do advanced planning. He always had a positive attitude about the people who worked for him and tried to advance their careers with NASA.

I got to know Dick in the NMA at JSC. GREAT guy, funny, smart and the financial stuff...knew it cold and tried to get engineers interested in it (good luck!) But he never quit trying and his lectures were excellent. God Bless you fella - I miss all the older folks I made friend with in the JSC NMA, but you especially!
