I met Rick while he stayed in Mobile Al for a few months with a friend and noticed his music, walking by the restorant in wich he played.
His music left me speachless and it was then that I decided to learn how to play classical guitar. Now, more than two dacades later I finally have enough Time and money to make this wish come true.
His way of playing the Guitar opened up a world to me that needs no words.

Back in 1984 when Rick first showed up at Berklee, Rick, myself and Elliot Silverman became friends and shared a love for Jazz guitar. We listened to Pat, and complained about dorm food. Every once in a while we went to Newbury Steak house for a good meal and a few beers. It was always fun, I remember those days with fondness, and hope that Rick's memory will live on through his friends, family and his music.

I am one of those fortunate enough to have cross paths wit Rick. A short encounter nevertheless during a dinner evening with friends in NY but so impressive that I always hoped to meet him ever again. In NY or in Amsterdam, 'the city without seasons where it was always raining'. It is a pity that such a bright, wise and lovable guy has had no chances to grow old. I wish his family and friends much strength in this difficult time.

We met Rick only two, three times in NYC last december. It was special. His good spirits contrasted starkly with the skin broken on his fingers, impairing him to play either tennis or guitar. He was still genuinely interested in new people. We are verry sorry we won't be able to get to know him better. We wish his family and friends courage, peace and unfading good memories. Rick was an impressive man.

Rick was a great friend of mine and music partner. I loved him. He was an inspiration. A great musician who had a great love and respect for life, a positive energy. Rick will live on in his compositions which I will continue to play. Thank you Rick, I miss you. see you on the other side bro.

Rick was a really kind and sensitive person. I was really sad to hear about his death. My son Reuben when I told him about rick's illness and death said, "I really liked that guy" And he played a mean game of ping pong. Rest well Rick

Rick was a fine friend and we also played together on occasion. When you're that close that you make some real and intimate music together, than of course Rick will always be in a sense, a part of me or in my thoughts and rememberance... Fine person, fine musician.
