People are put into our lives for lots of reasons, sometimes we don't know for a long time. Working at Presbyterian Hospital, I met Rick and he was a true lifesaver for me. When I was in the hospital recovering from an accident in 1983 and not doing very well, I developed issues with my blood that no one in my circle of family and friends could help me and my doctors with; until Rick had his blood tested. I remember chatting with Richard everytime I went to visit my mom,his neighbor. He was an interesting character. Always had something to say on whatever the topic of the day was. He will be miss as the neighborhood watch on that block.

i met Rick when I went to work at Presbyterian in 1979. He was a unique person with a big heart. I will miss him very much.
