Not sure what to say?

I am very sorry to have learned of the passing of Richard a few weeks ago and extend condolences to his wife and family. I was very fortunate to have met and taken a criminal law seminar with Professor Hibey in 1975 at The American University Law School and was immediately impressed with his humanity and knowledge of the law. He made a difference in my life.

We met a few years ago while I was working in Florence (Italy) during one of their vacations, Mary Ellen and Dick stood out for their innate kindness, exquisite manners and education. Becoming a little closer, due to an accident that unfortunately happened to Dick, from that moment on it was as if we had known each other forever. We can never forget your generosity in opening your home and family to us. Indelible memories. Dick will always live on in the hearts of those who loved him....

Clare Kabel: Many find memories of Dick and Mary Ellen visiting our home in DC. My husband, Jerry and I moved to Michigan in 1967 but continued our friendship with Dick and Mary Ellen through correspondence and seeing them when visiting DC. What a truly admirable person. May he rest in peace.

Dear Mary Ellen, Bo and I are so sad to hear of Dick`s passing. He was such a wonderful human being - a personality built on a foundation of kindness with all sorts of other lovely qualities on top, including an incredible aptitude for being "fun. "I know you must be heartbroken and our hearts break for you. You, he and the boys are in our prayers. Love, Ray.

Dear Mary Ellen, Our deepest condolences to you and your family. We so remember the evening Ann Marie hosted at Villa Yura. Dick was in good spirits, and it was a pleasure to be with both of you. Sincerely, Pete and Ingrid Willson

Dear Mary Ellen, I remember meeting Dick at one of our happy and fun reunions. May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

May the merciful Lord reward you and seat you among the righteous and just in the mansions of heaven. You will be missed. Rest In Peace!

I met Dick in 1958 when we were seniors in high school; Dick in Utica and me in Rome, NY. We each took first place in our categories, men and women, and were both awarded scholarships to Le Moyne College. There, we became debate partners in freshman year and after besting our opponents consisently, our Jesuit coach split us up as a team. He said that it wasn't fair. We both went on to win many tournaments with different debate partners and remained the best of friends throughout college. We...
