I received a note from Legacy regarding the anniversary of Richs passing. Rich was a great friend and the most helpful person to all who needed him. He was a true servant of the members of Local 900.
I think of Rich & Martha often and especially when I go by there home. He was a true friend and I miss his company. We spent many hours together talking strategy and the help he gave me was immeasurable. He was a wonderful person and the best friend anyone could have asked for. He will...

Julie, Mike and Jeff,
I just read of your Dad's passing. Even though it has been nearly a year, I was deeply moved to read of it. You may recollect that when we were unruly kids, you lived across the creek and through the woods from the Kellys. My dad had died and your Dad was kind, powerful and understanding. I remember the glint in his eye and his love of fun (and of his dog, Tar!), his honesty, and his ability to see through any hogwash from us, the kids, as we learned,...

Julie, Mike & Jeff,
I am so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. He was truly a kind and compassionate man. My father, Harold (Polecat) Porter and Rich were Great Friends - may years together at Canal Fulton Ramrod Club and various other gun shows. He would alway stop out on Nimisila Rd. and see Dad-as they enjoyed the same hobbies, gun and such. Dad loved Rich and gave him his pocket watch before he passed away. I can rejoice knowing they are having a good time in Heaven.

We are so very sorry for the loss of this great man who endured loss of his own but never a broken spirit. He remained full of kindness and love for all those he loved and those he came in contact with. His life was full and he loved visiting family (including his Uncle Kermit and Aunt Carolyn Jarvis). He was a blessing to all. God bless you all with His comfort and peace and promise of eternal life through His son Jesus Christ.
