Richard M. "Butch" Horn, 69, of East Bangor, PA, passed away Saturday, October 31st, at his residence with his loving family by his side.
Butch was born in Easton, PA on December 20, 1945, a son of the late Clayton M. and Dorothy (Keiper) Horn.
Butch was the husband of Shirley J. (Rushing) Horn. They would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary next month. Butch was employed as a lineman at Asplundh Construction Company in Bartonsville, PA, until retiring in 1991. Prior to that he was employed as a truck driver for various transportation companies. He was a 1963 Bangor High School graduate. He served in the U.S. Army as a Sgt. during the Vietnam War. Butch enjoyed buying and selling antiques.
Butch was a member of East Bangor United Methodist Church in East Bangor, PA 18013. He was a former member of the Dyle L. Bray VFW post 739 in Bangor, Bangor Elks Lodge 1106 , Bangor Lions Club, and East Bangor Fire Company.
In addition to his wife, Shirley, Butch is survived by three daughters, Kim Ujvary, Kelly Giamoni, and Londa Keiper, a son, David Horn, a sister, Sue Rice, 10 grandchildren, Caryssa, Avangeline, Ashley, Angela, Kyle, Emalene, Kate, Kelton, Jennika, and Caleb, 4 great grandchildren, Zayden, Blake, Lucas, and Logan. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amanda Messinger, a daughter, Cindy Horn, and a brother, Pete Long.
Memorial services will be held at East Bangor United Methodist Church, 136 W. Central Ave., East Bangor, PA, at Noon on Thursday, November 5th, with Rev. David Goss officiating. Friends are invited to call Thursday 11- Noon in the church. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Gaffney Parsons Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., "Village of Johnsonville", Bangor, PA. Online condolences may be made at gaffneyparsons.com.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to East Bangor United Methodist Church, 136 W. Central Ave., Bangor, PA 18013.

Shirley, Sue and family, I am so so sorry to hear of Butchs passing. I remember the fun times we would have at my Mom and Dad's house with you guys. Now he is up there in heaven clowning around with my Dad and Pete. My Mom is in Country Meadows now; I will tell her about Butch. My thoughts and prayers are with you! Sherri (Helen & Irv's daughter)
