Rich we will miss you at lunches at Sharky's ,Venice,Fl when you visit.

Rich was a wonderful man, son, brother, dad, friend and on and on. He loved his job and was proud to be a Brooklyn Police Officer (as we were to have you), serving the city residents and beyond. Always volunteering to honor residents, friends and most importantly fellow officers with a police funeral escort. Thoughts and prayers for Peggy, Chris, Tina and his extended Blue Family. Rest in Paradise Officer Rich Hovan.

Cant believe you are gone cousin we still had so many years left to enjoy, we are all still in shock , when that wears off the real pain of your loss will set in , sure going to miss you Richard, till then RIP cOUSIN bILL

In our world gone half mad, people look for something steady to hang on to. To remind them that everything will be ok. A constant. A routine. Values, religion, government, friends, family or all of the above. Richie was all of the above. Like all of us , he was flawed. But he had an unconquerable spirit. He never stopped trying. I could rely on him regardless of day, date, weather or short notice to help out with anything I needed. And I constantly needed...

Rich and I became instant friends when he come on the department, and have been since. When Peg gave me the information I was stunned. Rich and Peg visited us often, we even took in some Tribe games at Winter Haven during spring training. Ginny and I are going to miss you Buddy. Our condolences to the family.
