Rich was a wonderful man, son, brother, dad, friend and on and on. He loved his job and was proud to be a Brooklyn Police Officer (as we were to have you), serving the city residents and beyond. Always volunteering to honor residents, friends and most importantly fellow officers with a police funeral escort. Thoughts and prayers for Peggy, Chris, Tina and his extended Blue Family. Rest in Paradise Officer Rich Hovan.

Rich and I became instant friends when he come on the department, and have been since. When Peg gave me the information I was stunned. Rich and Peg visited us often, we even took in some Tribe games at Winter Haven during spring training. Ginny and I are going to miss you Buddy. Our condolences to the family.
