Richard Neil "Rick" Hunter

It's difficult to express how much I miss Rick, even though we didn't do a lot together the last few years. I knew Rick since 1969 at Met and then at Kaiser. Rick introduced me to backpacking, we attended many kinds of sporting events, and talked about everything under the sun.

Rick was just such a pleasure to be around under any circumstances.

I was saddened to hear of Rick's death this morning at church. My pastor, who has a Master's in genealogy, apparently worked with Rick in searching his roots. I worked with both Rick and Diana at Kaiser. I will always remember him as a quiet, good and gentle man with an amazing wit!

I was saddened to hear of Rick's passing. As Nick and I continue to travel our difficult journey with ALS, have some consolation in the fact that he is now at peace.

I am extremely grateful for the good years we had together in our marriage and for the continued friendship throughout the years since. I have many fond memories of the backpacking we did through out the Yosemite high country. Those trips were such wonderful adventures!

I am going to miss sharing the fun emails that he seemed to enjoy so much in recent months. He was such a wonderful Dad to Lori and an all around great human being. He is definitely missed.

I am so very shocked and saddened to learn of Rick's passing. He was a wonderful member of the Mt. Diablo Chapter of AHSGR and I was pleased to know him and share in his joy for genealogical research. Diane, our thoughts and prayers go out to you at this time.

Rick first contacted me through an online genealogical forum researching Germans from Russia. I had asked a question about the Semmler family and Rick replied very generously with loads of information. We discovered that his grandmother was my father's sister. We were family.
