Not sure what to say?

Nan, We just discovered that Richard died last year as we received your Christmas letter this season. We wish to send our condolences and express our gratitude for having known Richard, you, and your family. I still use Richard's story of getting fined in Australia for speeding on his bicycle as a way to illustrate the infinite reach of the atonement in the satisfaction of the law of justice. Our time in San Jose with you and Richard and your family, with Richard as our Bishop, ...

I am sorry Nan for your loss. I hold many fun BYU memories of you. I send hugs.

Dear Nan and all the Hunter family, My thoughts and prayers are with you. I have so many wonderful memories of Richard (actually I think of him as President Hunter). What a wonderful example of love and service and faith. I know he will be missed by so many. Love, Gaylene Powell

There are a few people on the planet that I looked up to more than Richard Hunter. Nan and Richard, you took us into your home and made us feel part of your family. I look back upon that time with great fondness. Both you and Richard were shining examples for both Susan and I and our children. We love you both so much. I am so sorry we missed the services yesterday , Had we known we would have driven up for the service. It would´ve been great to see all the kids. Thanks for all you have done...

I was in the BYU ward 1961to1963 when Brother Hunter was counselor to Bishop Sheffield. I remember you both, Nan and Rich. I watched and admired you from afar. Pauline Vaughn was my roommate in Rogers Hall. She always spoke of you lovingly. Amazing that I happened on this announcement tonight. Blessings to your family.

Gentle soul, kind person, soft spoken, warm smiles and a leader to us all.... You set my son apart for his mission to South Korea in your home. That memory will always be with me and my family. Thank you! We will miss you! Until we meet again....

When I first moved into the Almaden Ward, as a newly divorced mother with four young children, I was carrying a heavy burden. Pres. Richard Hunter was loving, kind, and encouraging. He did not judge and was generous with his warmth. He made me feel fully accepted and safe at a time when I was very vulnerable. His capacity for love and kindness blessed so many of us. For this I am grateful and to him, I will always be grateful. Until we meet again, my friend, may God bless you. Much...

Sister Hunter, Just wanted to share a fun memory from the New Zealand Auckland Mission: After a zone conference where local members had prepared a huge feed for the missionaries, you wrote thank-you lyrics to the music of hymn #58, "Come Ye Children of the Lord". We all sang it to the members, and to this day, every time I hear that hymn, I hear "Sister Grey and Sister Fish." May memories like these bring cheer to your heart as we take time to honor the extraordinary life of President Hunter.
