Not sure what to say?

Elaine and family. So sorry to hear of Richard's death. I recently got out the Christmas card he sent to us in 2008 and he said he would call. Wish I had done this earlier. I know we were never really close being in
VA but Richard always sent pictures of the girls. Hope all is well with their families and you are doing well. Our prayers are with you. A tree will be planted in one of our National Forests in honor of Richard.

A candle has been lit for Dick....

I was just informed of the passing of Richard. I am very saddened by this news. Thoughts and prayers to the family. I wish I would of known about this so I could have attended his memorial service. Rest in peace Richard.

Sending love & warm wishes to Janine and Nicole & family. We'll miss your Dad & will always fondly remember time spent with him. He was truly an extra special man. We light this candle in his honor....

And to Dick - Glenn said he'll catch you at Club Maldurn....

We met many years ago. We've laughed, wept, and drank together. My knees actually buckled upon retuning from vacation and hearing of your death. only then did I replay your life as I know it. Devoted husband and father. Eyes and ears against local abuse of your town. Collector, reader, wisened with actual experience, helper of those in need of anything. I will experience you again as I bump into problems. Seeing them through your views will help me. Thanks Dick.

Mr. Illian, growing up with you as our neighbor made every day a event, waiting for you to yell over the fence for my dad or picking up beer cans that some how found there way into our yard or decorating your yard with beer cans.Thank you for all the great memories, you will always be remembered in our hearts.

Thanks for the many memories. The many hours we spent hashing over the old movies, World War 2, horseracing, football, baseball. You name it and we talked about it. I looked forward to our daily meet.
The umbrella is closed, Amigo.
You will be sorely missed.
One last call: ABIERTO!

Dick Illian is an irreplacable American classic. From his deep devotion as a husband and father, to his civic commitment and professional excellence, he remains a good example to us all. He was a true and loyal, life-long friend to my late father. Always the warm host, Dick had mischievous grin that he shared readily -- especially in my recollection from behind his bar, accompanied by the well-worn grooves of a Blues Brothers album under the watchful eyes of a W. C. Fields poster. Thanks...

You'll be missed, Richard - you were a great guy!! Condolences are sent to the family.
