Richard Hayse Jackson, Jr. was born on October 9, 1945 in Pennington, Texas to Mary Ella Evans and Hayse Jackson. 


He received his elementary education from Fodice School System in Fodice, Texas and high school education from   G. W. Carver High School in Groveton, Texas where he was a graduate of the Class of 1965.  


At an early age, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at Mt. Senora Baptist Church in Pennington Texas. 


In 1965, Richard enlisted in the United States Army. He fought  valiantly for his country from 1966 to 1969 and was honorably discharged. After his return home, he relocated and made Lufkin, Texas his home.


He is preceded in death his mother (Mary E. Evans),  father (Hayse Jackson), his wife (Olivia Jackson), and his sisters (Lucille Horace, Enola B. Horace, Rosie P. Horace, Georgia M. Scurlock, Jessie L. Terry and Celestine Sherman).


 Precious memories of Richard will forever be cherished by his son,  Raymond Brown Jackson of Lufkin, Texas; brother, J. L. “Rooster” Evans, of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Pauline Hayward (John) of Humble, Texas and Carrie Byrd of Houston, Texas; one aunt, Selestine  Merchant (94 years old) of Groveton, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
