Not sure what to say?

Dick "Jake" was my best friend while teaching at Sherman Middle School in Holly, Michigan. The students loved the guy and he was the biggest supporter of students who had a hard time getting through school. I was most disappointed when he passed as I was close to retiring and wanted to do a lot of golfing - our favorite call in to take the day off from classes. One of our favorite golf trips was a three hour trip to Boyne Mountain for 18-holes in the higher altitudes of upper, lower...

I have known Jake for alot of years, he taught my children and younger brother in Holly Schools. He also married my brother and nephew, and Jake was a terrific man. He will be missed with all of his work with Holly Area Schools.

Words cannot express the feeling of loss I have for one of my favorite teachers and the man who performed my marriage to my present husband.

To the Jacobson family -- From one of "R.M.s" old friends from Jackson, our thoughts and prayers are with you today. We'll cherish the memories of First Congregational Church, our youth group, Jackson High School and many, many good times. Will remember R.M. with a memorial contribution.

What a wonderful gift 'Jake' had for touching the lives of others. He encouraged me to do my best and always let me know how smart he thought I was. Even at times I thought I wasn't. He cared for the underdog, and was the one to tell us that we could achieve ANYTHING. No matter what our circumstance.

Thank you Jake, for sharing your gift of love and love for life. You touched my life more than you will ever know!
You will be dearly missed.
