Richard was my neighbor on Winding Way for many, many years. I would see him walking with a group of men most mornings and he was always a friendly and cheerful person. I am sorry for your loss.

Richard was a consummate man of letters. One of the most well read people we ever knew. A true gentleman- so happy to have known him.

was a student of Richard Jambor in Kobe, Japan, in the 1950s, at the Marist Brothers High School in Suma where he taught lit and English and grammar. Richard Jambor was a luminous person and a kind of "bodhisattva" ie someone who helps you achieve understanding and salvation. I endlessly admired his curiosity and remember him walking across the schoolyard with a copy of "ARE YOU RUNNING WITH ME JESUS?"
