Not sure what to say?

Ben and I have fond memories of Captain Rick Jensen from our time in Pensacola. Rick was an amazing man who was taken far too soon. Our prayers for your family at this time of year, and always, Alana.

I am sorry to have heard this sad news and that I had been out of town at the time of CAPT Jensen's death. I was proud to have served with him at VT10. I know he will be watching this Friday when I get promoted to CAPTAIN. You will all remain in my thoughts and prayers.

Captain Jensen was truly an officer and a gentleman. He was always in my thoughts and prayers along with his family during his illnes and I will continue to do pray for him. I wish we had time for one more Blues burger. I will miss him.

Alana - The world is dimmer today with Rick's passing, but heaven's light has been brightened by his arrival. We know that God is true to His word, and you will be reunited one day and laugh together again, and I imagine Tally and Shelby will probably be right alongside you, all riding in the "Cuda." I will greatly miss my friend, aka "The Hulk" and "Peace Toe."
Alan - Your dad was so proud of you, and always talked about you no matter what the topic of conversation. Godspeed to you...

Our dear friends Rick and Alana, Such good memories so long ago it seems. Our heart aches of the news and our prayers and thoughts to you Alana and Alan during this difficult time of grief and loss. We will always hold a place in our hearts for Rick's contagious smile, sailing, flight school, Shelby and Talley, camping on the beach. God Bless you and please let us know if you need anything. Our prayers are with your family.
Love Always, Lea Cook

Alana, Lea and I were shocked to read about Rick's passing. We are in NY for my sister's funeral. This announcement adds to our grief. You and Rick were best friends as we went through flight school in 1974-75. Recalling Tally and the potted plant flying across the bay window will always bring a smile to us. Rick was a gentlemen who always kept his composure. We will miss him tremendously. When we last visited your home 2 years ago, he spoke about how proud he was of Alan. I will come...

Autumn Rain - Unknown Author
Do not stand by my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints upon the snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain and
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush,
I am that swift uplifting rush,
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft star that shines at night.
Do not stand by my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die.

Rick:...

I had the honor of serving with Rick on the USS America from 1983 through 1985. He was a fine man and Naval Officer. We crossed paths here in Pensacola many times after that-I will miss him. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

A great loss not only to the family, but the community as well. Rick was the embodiment of leadership. He led by example, preaching quality time at work in order to maximize quantity time at home. No matter what the endeavor he left his stamp on everything and more importantly everyone he came in contact with. In the military, one renders a salute to a senior officer out of respect for the rank. In the case of Skipper/Commodore Jensen the salute was not only for the rank, but most...
