Not sure what to say?

I was one of Mr. Jensen's students in the Chamber Wind Ensemvble at SASA from 2011-2013. He also coached me for Solo & Ensemble and arranged a song for me to play there (I still have the sheet music!). Mr. Jensen was a brilliant musician and composer. He really inspired me to get serious about my music, and the discipline I built under his tutelage carried over into other aspects of my life. Mr. Jensen's patience and gentle guidance made us want to meet his high expectations. We were always...

My condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Jensen. I read all the condolences of him as an amazing teacher named RJ, but I knew him as Dick Jensen, the most skilled Lake Trout fisherman that would come to the fly in fishing lodge (Waterbury Lake Lodge) that I worked at when I was in College. Being a young, inexperienced fishing guide, I was put in charge of piloting the boat for Dick. Dick was the guide, because he knew all the spots and had forgot more about trout fishing than most...

Mr. Jensen was my high school music teacher in 1997. He went way beyond the call of duty to teach my friend and I how to play the guitar. With very little musical talent, I'm sure we were a pain. After I became a teacher, I inspired to follow in his footsteps when working with my students. RIP

I am so sorry for your loss. May the Angels welcome him to paradise. I had the honor of sitting next to RJ when I started in SACB, I didn´t know who he was, I knew him as the Tuba player, he made me feel welcome, he made me laugh, and he made coming to band every week such a joy. Thank you RJ. I will miss seeing you at our concerts at Westcourt.

Memories remained so vivid of activities under his direction. His band classes were what I looked forward to the most. That was 50 years ago, and tells you something about this kind and intelligent man. Rest In Peace, heavenly music and trumpets' blare await you.

Richard E. Jensen served the music students of Saginaw with dignity, honor and a flair for excellence. Mr. Jensen was a brilliant arranger of music notes and people on the field. I count it an honor and a privilege to have been one of his students at AHHS. He made the high school experience a most memorable one! Rest in Peace my friend and mentor!! Gregory (AKA Benson) Lange AHHS-1971, Lexington, KY.

RJ, as we knew him was a giant in the lives of thousands of students, bands, drum and bugle corps, and a myriad of smaller music ensembles. It is impossible to measure his loss, but rather our job is to hold dear his memory in our hearts...

Mr. Jensen was my marching band teacher. Great memories, he was so friendly and helpful as well as encouraging. He really made an impact on a lot of students.
