Not sure what to say?

I just ran across this page as I was poking around some of Dad's records. Thank you all so much for your fond memories of my mom and dad. They were both larger than life - mom with her never ending optimism and angelic fun spirit and dad with his 'take no prisoners' form of teasing. In the end mom took her memory with her to heaven and dad looked forward to being with her again. They had a unique look at love and I'm proud they were my parents. your memories and thanks for the meaning of...

It seems impossible that the time since Dick's passing has flown by. After losing Tom, I just lost track of where and when things happened. I've thought of both Dick and Pat so often, they were truly special people. Fondly, Roberta

Dear Eric and Karen
It is with much sorrow that Tom and I just recently learned of your dear father's death. He took a chance on us, hiring us at Hillsboro Mid-High in 1970 and 1972 respectively. He trusted and respected us as young teachers, lending his expertise along the way. We will always remember his genuine devotion to his students and staff AND his wonderful, jovial personality.

Memories of your dad will always have a special place in our hearts. We send our deepest...

Rip cousin, we had some fun in the 40s and 50s. You were like an older brother, but our lives took different tracks. Glad I got to see you last summer at the Vassbygdlaget Picnic.

Eric and Karen,

If not for your dad's hiring me in 1973, I would not have met my husband or had my daughter. I owe him much more than just giving me a career.

He was admired and well-liked by his co-workers, and he treated everyone with respect and kindness. His laugh will stay with me always.

I hope all the years of memories will help you as you grieve.

Dick Johnson was one of my favorite teachers during my years at Hilhi. He was always concerned about the welfare of his students. He will be missed!

Dick, along with Pat were both friends, neighbors and colleagues for many years in Hillboro. Unfortunately the last contact with the entire family was at Pat's service. None of the Hutton clan are able to attend the service, unfortunately. Son Brian has a death in his wife's family to attend to, and Brett's wife in seriously ill in the hospital. Many of Dick's buddies hope to have an informal get together here in Hillsboro as the weather improves and travelers to warmer climes return....

Dear Karen and Eric,

I was so sorry to hear of the loss of your father. Dick was a great colleague and a good friend. Times from Poynter Jr HS when I was principal there are most memorable.
Many good times were shared with both your mom and dad and I will always remember both so fondly. I am so sorry I cannot attend the service on Saturday, but my husband and I are currently in Hawaii. He joins me in extending our deepest sympathy to you and your families.

Sincerely,...

We are so sorry to learn of your Dad's passing. He and your Mom were great neighbors to us for over 10 years and we have such fond memories of them both.
