Great teacher, I learned many things from him.

My father Dick Ullrich were good friends & taught at Victor school as band teacher. Our thoughts & prayers are with your whole family. Rick & Patsy Ullrich, Bloomfield NY.

Such an amazing funny man. The 80s were better with his wit and that huge heart. We'd kid him about his height yet his come backs made us laugh. Vcs had a classic gentleman. Thank you Mr J. To the family his life was full of blessings and love. Adventures now memories To reflect upon. My deepest Prayers for a man who truly lived the life he was given. Star

I remember well being a member of his first driver education class in September 1950 at VCS. It was a great learning experience which has served me well for 68 years. He was a memorable teacher and person.

I still have a piece that I made in one of his shop classes some 43 years ago. I remember his humor and good nature.

I am saddened by the passing of Dick. As a young teacher I looked up to him and when he talked in the teachers lounge we listened intently so as not to miss any of the wisdom he was imparting. At times he made us laugh with his humor and his smile lit up the room. He was everyone's friend and mentor.
