Not sure what to say?

Played baseball with Ricky Katzberg back when we schoolboys in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Rest In Peace, Old Friend.

I met Dr. Katzberg when he did his radiology residency at the Univ. of Rochester Medical Center where I was first an angio tech then a tech in the radiology research lab. And decades later I happened upon him when I was at UC Davis for a research project. He was always a gentleman, thoughtful, kind and caring. I send my sincere sympathy to his family.

Dear Nancy,

Christy and I send out deepest sympathies on Rick's passing - a complete shock. He was always generous, kind-hearted, compassionate and funny, as my favorite mentor and colleague during my residency at U of R Med Center. I worked with Rick on most of the TMJ illustrations for his papers, presentations, and books. Love and peace to you and family, Dan Wopperer, MD, FACR

I really appreciated working with Rick in the Air Force. We developed tmj arthrography together. We also did a book with Clyde Helms. He was a good colleague and friend. I am glad I had the chance to talk with him about 5 years ago. I extend my deepest sympathies to his family.

Rick was such a special person. My husband David Weber and I moved to Sacramento so David H work with Rick. He was such a talented, loyal person and friend. We were so sorry to see him leave that city but David kept in touch with Rick even after we moved to DC. Now David is gone and Rick as well. My heart is broken for Nancy and his family. Rich was so honored for being the fine person and radiologist that he was. He earned the respect of his staff and friends, and the thought of this loss is...

Dear all,

I can't understand this. He was so full of life and enthusiastic for the future. I had email contact with Rick in May and he was hoping to come up and visit in Rochester. He was hoping to give lectures to our residents. I have known Rick since 1986 and we met through research. He came to visit in Sweden to see what we were doing. He was hoping to spend his sabbatical in Sweden. However they had just received their first MR machine in Rochester (actually #5 in the country) and...

It is shocking how quickly one can be called from this earth. It was barely over a couple short months ago that Rick, in apparent excellent health, was using his radiology expertise and keen intellect to help me sort through the complexities of my urgent personal medical issues, as he had done so often for so many of our family members in the past. Now, with only the briefest warning, he has been taken from us. I will miss Rick his humor, his intellect, his caring...

My sincerest...

My deepest sympathies and prayers of comfort to all the family and friends of Dr. Katzberg

cashmere sweaters and those blue eyes. two of the things we had in common.
I missed him when he retired, and was glad to see him when he came back for a research project.

Nancy, I've thought about you so often over the years (just yesterday, in fact, when I came across an old email from you!!), and am so sorry to hear of Rick's passing. If you're ever in Sac I know Kris and I would love to have lunch with you. I will be making a donation to your hospice group in Rick's memory. Please take good care. - Diana
