Go 49ers Love and miss you, Kathy

I was devastated to learn of Rit's passing in Jan.
Rit was a very good friend and roomate. I first met him at Willard Hall, CU, Boulder in Sept. of '61. He lived two doors down, and we immediatrely became great drinking buddies at The Sink, a legendary watering hole where he was also a "Pinball Wizard".
We also worked together at the student TV station, he in engineering and I in production. One of his mentors turned us on to our first experiments in home brewing, which wasn't...

Rit and I graduated from two different high schools in Colorado Springs, and met for the first time at the University of Colorado. We became friends there in Boulder and reconnected some years ago after we both had retired from our primary careers. I will always remember Rit as a very special and very good friend. Just days before he passed away, we had talked computers over the phone. Thanks for that final "bail-out" old buddy!

I was very sorry to hear that Rit had passed on. Rit had been my neighbor and friend since the early 70's.He was a regular member of the eccentric family at Camp Rosa. There is still a collection of napkins that captured his image drawn by his friend John Born done with wit and humor . He was a generous friend and loved to fly his friends for ski trips to Bend, Sun Valley and points beyond or just lunch at the Nut tree. His daring as a pilot is legendary. I recall when we all stood on the...

I just found this and am still in shock. I met Rit 20 years ago, and he remains one of the smartest and most interesting people that it has been my privilege to know. God speed Rit.

I remember Rit from the early days in Palo Alto - Rit was a fun guy always ready to try something new. Condolences to his family.

Rit is one of my most memorable characters at HP. I worked for him in the 80's and always enjoyed his wit and quick answers to questions. He will be missed.

I was shocked to hear of Rit's passing. I remember him from my early days at HP Santa Rosa in 1980 when he was named Signal Analysis Divion GM. He was an enthusiastic high-energy guy who knew how to work hard and play hard. He will be sorely missed.

I am in shock after someone mentioned his obituary in the paper! I spoke with Rit just days before he passed promising to make a house call on my stubborn computer. It is no wonder I could not reach him. I thought of him like a dad, as he was around during my integral years growing up! I am so glad I was able to share the years with him even though they have been cut short. He will be truly missed! What a well written obituary. I think he would have been proud of the write up from Jason.
