Richard Keplar

Mr. Keplar was a great professor and department head to me at ODU's CET department. I was just thinking of him last week because one year we returned to class after Thanksgiving and talked for awhile about our families and Thanksgiving dinners. I could tell he was proud of his family and very happy to have spent time with them all on Thanksgiving Day. I think of him often as his advice, guidance and direction changed my life.

Richard was a wonderful engineering professor and a mentor to me when I was a CET student at ODU (Class of 86). I was very sad to read of his passing in the alumni news. My deepest condolences to the family.

I have such fond memories of our children playing together in the old Exeter Landing neighborhood. I know you all have a big hole in your hearts today. I pray that it gets smaller as time goes by. You all are in my thoughts and prayers today.
