Not sure what to say?

In the photo of our 1967 Philmont 'Expedition' (that I posted in July 2017) Richard is in the second row (standing) furthest-to-the-right (in his dark green Explorer Scout shirt). /// (I'm puzzled - I thought that I'd included a legend with the photograph but don't see it now.)

Richard was an Amateur Radio Operator (a 'ham'). He originally held the Call KD5ODJ; when he upgraded from 'General' to 'Extra' Class license he changed his Call (Sep 2003) to N5BBI.

Philmont Expedition 709I3 - July 1967 (Richard is on the back row, standing, furthest to the right, with his Post 135 patch showing on his arm)

Fifty years ago today (July 10, 1967) Richard and I and 10 other Boy & Explorer Scouts were starting our hike through the mountains and valleys of the Philmont Scout Ranch in northern New Mexico. Richard was one of four Scouts in our 'Expedition' ('709I3') from Fredericksburg and I was one of five Scouts from San Marcos. /// The Scouting 'Capital Area Council', based in Austin, had put-out-the-word many months earlier to Scouting organizations in central Texas asking who wanted to go to...

I am truly sorry for your loss, i wish i had gotten the chance to meet him. I would have loved for him to have met his great nephew david kilman. He will be missed by so many and will always be loved and rememember.. R.I.P. Richard

my sincere condolences to Rich's family. I was a 1971 FHS classmate and he was always nice to me, very sweet guy !!! So glad I got to see him at out reunion this year. God Bless you and will keep ya'll in my prayers !!!

What a wonderful friend I lost when Rich died. He saved me from a lot of personal mental anguish when I first spoke to him after Tim left maytech. At that time I REALLY depended on Tim and here he was gone. Rich stepped in, took care of everything current and then showed me many ways to make it better. Rich helped us earn a profit for many years. He was a wonderful friend and I will miss him forever.
