Richard S. Klimek

Everytime I walk outside and start getting into something I always looked to see if you were coming or going. We're driving by slowly to see if I was home to stop and pay a friendly visit. I liked how you were with my kids and promoting the interest of soccer to my three year old and that one years old bought in his first soccer ball. Which we got a chance to work on some of the things we wanted to do. It seems like there's never enough time. I miss sharing complaints about our ailments aches...

Had the honor of playing for Coach for 2 years.
Great man, and a huge loss to the NJ soccer community.

Tremendous sadness when I received word of Rich's passing. We grew up together in Dorothy on chicken farms, worked hard and played sports equally hard, Rich always teaching us young guys.

He always led by example, in sports and as alter boys in St. Bernard 's parish in Dorothy.He used to tell us winning isn't the most important part of the game,it's how hard you play. I knew of Coach from the years my son played soccer @ Ocean City ('88 through '91) and you knew he had the affection and respect of his players. At that time Coach Klimek was the only coach Vineland ever had since he founded the program back in 1994. I got to know Coach when he informed me that he was nominating me for election to the South Jersey Soccer Hall Of Fame. I was fortunate to have taught Rich when he was in 9th grade at Memorial School, and then to have worked closely together as educators at VHS. His love of history, his passion for sports, his delightful sense of humor and his friendship shall remain among my fond memories of him. Arleen and I extend sincere condolences to his family.
