Not sure what to say?

I knew him as Uncle Dick, and his wife as Aunt Anne. He was one of my father's longtime friends. We would take trips from our home in West Seneca, NY to visit them. We would meet them at Holy Family Camp some summers. I remember the stops at Stuckey's and arriving at their house that smelled like flowers, and the sound of the big fan in the attic. I remember the time he and my dad were barbequing outside the house as tornado hit nearby - all the coals started flying and they were able to...

I must echo the words of my brother Ken of the fond memories of all the tIme over the years spent in the company of Aunt Anne and Uncle Dick and their family.

Uncle Dick was my father's best friend since they were both in the fifth grade. We spent 1-2 weeks with the Knab family every year for much of my childhood. Most years we would visit their home. Aunt Anne and Uncle Dick seemed to welcome our invasions. We always arrived when the cherries on the tree in their front yard were perfectly ripe. My brothers and I would immediately climb the tree and gorge ourselves.
Aunt Anne and Uncle Dick never complained and gave us the run of their...

Dear Family,

Both Dick and Anne were very special people to me. They were one of the most loving couples I have ever known.

What role models they were to the entire staff....as they lived for one another, under the banner and love of Christ.

And, now....they are once again, reunited in the portals of glory...

We...who are left belind, sorrow...but, not as those who have no hope. For, we know that one day, we will see them again....

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all as you lay your father to rest and celebrate his life. What a legacy he and Anne leave behind! Much Love, H&K

Mary and Joan,
Lisa and I are thinking of you and the whole Knab family during this sad time. Wish we could be there. The world has lost a kind and gentle soul. God Bless.

Hope you find some comfort knowing he is with your mom smiling down on all of you. We know that you are all very proud of him. We can't thank him enough for his service to our country.

I always enjoyed visiting Mr. Knab at Kemper House. He always knew I was one of the "Mesker Girls"!
