My dear Beth and all Eatons and Kochs:

I only knew Rick Koch for one year of my life. I was a freshman at UConn; he was a senior who lived on my floor. He was a terrific, smart person who was a better friend to me than I ever would have expected.

I remember thinking how well he did marrying Beth Eaton. I was happy to hear about his success as a builder. Rick's biology degree came too early; we're in the golden age of biology now. He still found a way to be smart and successful - no surprise.

Eileen told me about Rick's illness at a wake last year. I'm sad to hear that he lost his fight at too young an age. You have my deepest sympathy.
