Not sure what to say?

I miss you so much, Dad. Every day brings new ways that I miss you. I miss your voice, stories, counsel, your connection to our places and ancestors. I am in disbelief, but when I put my hands onto the world, I feel you there still touching my hands.

Heartbroken. I always cherish the time spent with you touring my house three years ago. My home is your very first in your amazing portfolio. That too I cherish. So grateful that you existed.

Hi - We have known about but just learned so much more about this incredible man and his spirit. We live in the 3118 sw cascade dr home he built in the mid 70´s. I grew up in Boston and my husband of 25 years grew up in Hawaii. We have 1 daughter, age 10 - Calder - named after Alexander Calder our favorite artist. I started and have run a sustainable + ethical clothing showroom from our carport for 20 years. My husband a talented chef. Everyone who has ever stepped foot in our beautiful...

When I was a very young adult Richard Lakeman entered my world. His friendship and support allowed my life to unfold in a positive way for a number of years. I consider myself very fortunate to have known him. What a good person. Truly, Richard Lakeman has left the world a better place.

What a wonderful story of Richard's life! As a friend of Jory, I met him after they got together. Such a character, full of life. They had a wonderful life together and she loved him so much. Condolences to the entire family. I'd love to join for your celebration of Richard's life, but I'll be in Amazonia looking for birds. Meanwhile, hugs to all, love, Sandi Morey

Dick Lakeman gave me an opportunity as a young man that I will always be grateful for. As a 20 year old hippy with no previous home building experience he hired me to build a 3 story pole house at Salishan on the Oregon coast. It remains one of my favorite projects in a lifetime of building and making things. Although it took longer than the bank was happy with we completed the project as friends and I built his Cascade Drive house a year or so later. I was also honored when he trusted me to...

My husband Ray Robbins was so close to Rick for so, so many years. Served in Korea together as worked with him as an artist and illustrator. We were friends on so many levels and my family and I truly miss him so much. Ray passed away in 2021 and Rick took the time to write me a wonderful log of their friendship which I will treasure forever. We had such wonderful memories with him. My girls, Nicole and Noel will miss his presence as will I. Such a sad day. And I support his prayer to be...

We recently moved into a floating home at the Oregon Yacht Club and have thought about Dick often. His floating home was my destination and turn around point when I rowed a shell out of the Riverplace and we enjoyed catching up while he enjoyed his coffee on his swim deck. In fact that period had a major impact on our decision to buy our floating home. We would love to reestablish contact with you kids, Dirk, Mark, and Jenny. Dick was a special friend whom we often think about.
