Eckersell Funeral Home (Eckersell Memorial Chapel) Obituary

Our loving Father, Grandfather and Brother Richard Lamb, 78, of Roberts, Idaho, passed away surrounded by his family Thursday April 25th, 2024, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Richard was born February 27th, 1946, in Blackfoot, Idaho to Delbert Ross Lamb and Leora Edna Lamb (Lyon). He was raised and attended schools in Jefferson County. On September 4th, 1964, he married the love of his life, Susan Kay Leigh, in Dubois, Idaho. They were later blessed with 4 beautiful children: Suzette, Barbara, Angela and Dustin.

He was a Jack of all trades, but later retired in maintenance for School District 251 after 31 years.

Dad loved spending time with family; especially when it came to his grandkids. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing, and hunting. Staying busy was a must for him, whether it was building things, or tinkering around the house. He was not the type to sit around.

Richard is survived by his children; Suzette (Mark) Caudill of Ririe, Idaho, Barbara Coleman of Roberts, Idaho, Angela (Jeff) Monk of Rigby, Idaho and Dustin Lamb of Roberts, Idaho. Siblings Ricky (Billie) Lamb of Roberts, Idaho and Judy Garner of Idaho Falls, Idaho; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Susan kay Lamb (Leigh), his Father Delbert Ross Lamb, his Mother Leora Edna Lamb; Siblings Carl Lamb, Zelma Edelmayer (Lamb), Faye Edelmayer (Lamb), Jay Lamb; His Grandchildren Blake Mitchelle Landon and Wyatt Michael Landon.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, May 11th, 2024 at Eckersell Funeral Home, 101 West Maine Street, Rigby, Idaho. Visitation with the family prior to the services will be held from 9:30 am to 10:45 am. Interment will follow at the Market Lake Cemetery in Roberts, Idaho. Condolences may be sent to the family online.

Not sure what to say?

I am so sorry for your families loss. Richard was a such a kind man. I remember last time we spoke. He missed his sweet wife Sue so much. He said how lost he was without her. Loosing him is so difficult, but to vision him with Sue again brings a little smile to my face. How happy he must be.

I knew Richard and Susan when they worked for the school district. They were great to have around, always friendly, and ready to help. I am sorry for your loss.

It was a pleasure to work with Richard at School District 251

So sorry for your family’s loss.
