I was Richard's neighbor and daily playmate (along with his brother, Charlie) from about age eight until they moved from Athens. I am terribly sorry about his tragic death.

May GOD bless Richard's family at this time and give them strenght.

I did'nt know where Richard went after Athens but while he was here,he was a good friend of mine. One time he was in the hospitaland he talked me into learning to play chess.I did'nt know it was gonna take hours but he and I had a very good time that day .He did teach me the game, although I never won when playing against him.

Sonya,
I would like to express my deepest sympathy to you for your tragic loss. I attended school with Richard when he lived in Athens, Alabama and have fond memories of him. Please give my sympathy to his mother, sisters and brother.
