Of Swartz Creek, age 78, died Thursday, October 18, 2012 at his residence. Funeral service will be held at 12 noon Monday,
October 22, 2012 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Dr. Kenneth Lang officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Richard was born in Rochester, New York on September 21, 1934, the son of Helen and David Lang. He married Glenda Sue Ray on March 18, 1955. He attended GMI Institute as an engineer and was a graduate of the University of Michigan. Mr. Lang was employed at the Flint GM Chevrolet Plant until he retired. He was an avid U of M fan. He was a Shriner, a master Craftsman and car enthusiast. Richard was a kind, gentle and loving man, who will be missed by many. Surviving are loving and devoted wife, Glenda, of 57 years; sons, Rick and wife Donna, Karl, Kenneth and wife Lucy, Steve and wife Stephanie; grandchildren, Lauren, Lindsey, Kyle, Rachel, Emily, David, Nathaniel and Samantha; great-cousins, friends and lifelong friend, Raymond Baldasarre of Rochester, New York.
