My husband Tom and I were stunned to learn of Richard's passing. Richard was more than my publisher - though he was totally instrumental in getting my story of my mom's dementia published. He was a friend. Though we lost contact over the last few years, I fondly remember visiting at his home, seeing his dogs, and chatting with his mom. We had them over to dinner here once to let them sample Portuguese Roast Meat which they loved; another time he and a friend came to launch their kayaks....

Richard was the publisher for my book, but more important, he became a friend. This gentle, honest man will be missed. Praying for his dedicated, loving family.

To the LaPorta family I met Richard when I became a member of CAPA a few years back. He was a kind and dedicated man that loved to help others. His friendly demeanor would make anyone comfortable. Prayers to his family in this most difficult time.
