I met Richard in 2000 and we hit it off immediately. Spending time with him was pure joy. He was kind, brilliant and funny. We lost touch a few years back. Last night I had a dream about him and today looked him up online to see what he was up to. I was in shock to see he had passed. I was blessed to have had him in my life.

Rick was my closest friend in high school. We were close football teammates; trained together, ate lunch together, even worked together at a summer camp. I am so grateful for his freindship in those formative years, and for our recent good conversations. Rick, I hope to see you on the other side, my friend.

I first came to know Richard more than 50 years ago. Throughout time, he never wavered in his friendship and loyalty. Remarkable man. Love you, Richard, Rich Wildman

In the fall of 1984, Richard and I met for lunch in Lansing, MI. He was just finishing his stint as the director of PIRGIM and was deciding whether to attend law school in Boston or Washington. He was still very interested in politics, but said he had grown up since his days at the University of Michigan, when we first met.
