Not sure what to say?

I just heard about Dr. Light's passing. I worked as his assistant at St. Thomas/Vanderbilt for several years. What an incredible human being he was. He could be very intense (as great minds tend to be) but also very kind. I miss the dinners he and Judi hosted and the restaurants they took me to. He always wanted me to try something different! Rest in peace Dr. Light. My condolences to Judi and the entire family.

I had the unique experience of being Rich's first pulmonary fellow. This was at LSU in Shreveport. He was a superb teacher and great human being. Also a good tennis player with a unique style. I later worked as a member of his pulmonary section in Long Beach. After he moved to Vanderbilt he also taught my son, who did his pulmonary fellowship there. So he was a great contributor to my family.

Great teacher
Great human being

Uncle Ritchie you will be missed by all! I’ve always enjoyed the limited time we spent together but every time was memorable. We really enjoyed having you and Judy here for thanksgiving and daddy’s service in 2018. See you in the next life Jeremy, Jessica, and kids

Dr Light sir, I learnt about your lights criteria while doing my thesis during the residency programme. I wanted to meet you once in my lifetime to express my gratitude and take your advice for studies in pleural medicine.
Rest in peace.
I want to dedicate famous Hindi song - "Chiththi na diya sandes, wo na jane kaunsa des, jaha tum chale gaye" (Neither letter nor given any message, do not know which country you left to )

No one can prepare you for a loss; it comes like a swift wind. However, take comfort in knowing God is with you and your family lean on him in your time of need. Please accept my most heartfelt condolences.

My mentor Prof. Richard Light with whom I had the privilege to work and do research in Vanderbilt University has left us. However, he will live vividly in his works and in our memories.
I did not learn only science from him but also that a tree with fruits stays down to earth, and global love.
May he rest in lights and peace.
May his place become paradise.

Absolutely loved him! Praying for his family.

Absolutely loved him. Worked with him for Years at St Thomas West hospital. Praying for the family! Sincerely Vickie Krick
