Not sure what to say?

Esther and Family: Many changes have happened over the past year for both of us. But some things will never change. They are the memories and good times we shared with Dick and yourself, and Max, during our many years at Harbor Hills.

Dear Dicky,

When we married we became one. We grew up together, we raised or children together, we laughed and cried together. I had hoped we'd have more time to grow older together, but God had other plans. I can't see you now but I feel your presence in our home and I know you are watching over me and our family.

You were, are and always will be in my heart so I know I will never be alone. Please lend me your strength to continue this journey until we can be joined...

My dearest and truest friend we were able to stay true to one another for fifty-five years. We worked together, played together, argued and laughed together but always in good humor. Over the years we watched our families grow, flourish and prosper and it was all a joy and a delight. Very often we were separated by distance but our hearts and minds were always very close. A day never goes by that I might see something or do something and immediately it reminds me of you. My dear friend...

It is impossible to express how deeply we felt with the passing of Dick. The friendship with him and John Manning went back to 1959 when they all met at the Hartford Insurance. It lasted through all the years even with your moves to Pennsylvania, New York and back to Massachusetts. Dick was such a wonderful, caring person who we had a great respect for. We have the best memories of the good meals, cards played and enjoyable talks which included John and Barbara. Florida was a long way...

Richard Line, or Uncle Dick to me, was one of my favorite uncles. I have such fond and loving memories of him. My dad and Uncle Dick have been best friends for over 50 years. Growing up our families spent many times each year visiting each other for extended periods of time. Although not blood relatives, in my heart and I know in all of our hearts we are as close as blood relatives can be. When I hear his name the first thing I think of is his booming voice and laughter! – He always...

Dear Grandpa

Not a day goes by that I do not think of you. I am very lucky to be able to call you my grandfather.

Love and Miss You

I know for sure that this world would be a much better place if everyone had as strong and present a role model as our family and I were blessed with. Richard Line, my Grandfather, was the true foundation of the family. To me it seemed that being a provider,a loving husband, father and grandfather was the reason he was put on this earth. There is no other man better suited for this role.
The love he had for his entire family was always evident in his kind actions and words. He was never...

on the cruise

From a rough draft of an essay Tom wrote for college applications Spring 2000:

My granfather, Richard Line, has had the greatest influence on my life so far. His many values such as kindness, honesty, and his sense of duty along with his strong sense of belief in the Catholic faith, that helped him develop these values have made him into a person that I admire greatly. In addition, he has introduced me to the game of golf, which has also shaped my life.

Kindness has...
