Richard J. Lowery, age 76, longtime resident of Homewood, passed away after a long, courageous battle with Cancer. Army Veteran of the Korean War, beloved husband for 56 years of Margaret, nee Donegan; loving father of Gayle (Larry) Campbell of Homewood and Karen (Tom) Kennedy of Valparaiso; dearest grandfather of the "Great Eight", Christopher, Jonathan, Spencer and Katie Campbell, Megan, Carolyn and Grace Kennedy and Courtney Weicher; great-grandfather of Evelyn Weicher; beloved son of the late Lucille and John Lowery;dear brother of Jack, Fred and Joe Lowery, Carol Kearney and the late Dorothy Thomas, Robert and Frank Lowery. Retired All State Insurance Agent for 40 years. Visitation Monday Nov. 30, 2009, 2 to,9 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 18022 Dixie Highway, Homewood. I'll never forget Uncle Dick singing up a storm at family parties. His laugh will forever roar in my mind when I think of him. I admire him for his loving spirit and his unwavering positive attitude. My thoughts and prayers are with you all, especially you, Aunt Peg. I love you and Uncle Dick so much.
