Not sure what to say?

I first met Richard at the Dallas airport while waiting for transportation home in 2010. Between us was a young man who just completed Air Force basic training in San Antonio. We discussed military strategy until our flights were called, and he gave me a copy of Marines in the Garden of Eden: The True Story of Seven Bloody Days in Iraq. Richard inspired me as a writer, and as a decent man. I will miss you, my friend.

It is with a very heavy heart that we pen this, It was our pleasure to have been friends and neighbors with Richard , Vickye and the boys. Not a day goes by that I do not think of them... We watched them raise the boys to fine grown men and witness all wonderful events that go along with it.

We spent countless hours on the back deck discussing Richard's passion of researching and writing of our men in uniform. I was always amazed at his brilliance and his astute comprehension of...
