It saddened our hearts to hear of our spiritual brother's death. He was a joyful brother and brought happiness to others with his smile and chuckles.
But we take comfort in the words of Jesus at Luke 23:43; "Truly I tell you today, You will be with me in Paradise."
And we look forward to that day, until then David, Sara, Gabrielle, Monique & Lucas will miss him.

Never did i ever forget how special you made me feel growing up..The trips we took to local attractions when you visited me in Florida, and experiencing the thrill of roller coasters for the first time..I remember being half in fear, and half in exhilaration, which is almost a reflection of how I live my life to this day come to think of it..The special outings we had to the shopping mall to lift my spirits when I thought nobody cared or understood my willful personality you always had away...

I remember around 1992, Collin and I were living in Florida and we didn’t have much. As a matter-of-fact, we had no money at all and our shoes were in such bad shape that you could see our toes. Well, Uncle Richard happened to be visiting at that time and he spent the day with us. He said he wanted to go to the mall. Collin and I were looking in the shoe store at all the “cool” sneakers we wanted as kids, but couldn’t afford. We both found a pair we loved and Uncle Richard came up to us and...

As I sit and write this, I am drawn to fond memories of a young girl who would sit next to her Great Uncle on the piano bench. I remember watching in complete amazement as his fingers would sweep across the keys like a magician and the piano seemingly would know what melody to play. It was my Uncle Richard who would sing and play over and over again “The Rainbow Connection” for his niece until the wee hours of the morning or I fell asleep first. I remember being introduced to “Chop Sticks”...

Richard was such a kind and generous person, and wonderful uncle. As a child, I remember him magically pulling quarters from my ear, playing silly songs for us kids on his piano, and laughing at our games of charade. His friendship and kindness never ceased as I became an adult and moved on with life. My wife and children are so lucky to have met him. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

Uncle Richard,
We will miss your jokes, your smile and getting to spend time with you. But when one is loved as much as you are, death does not mean the end. You live on in our hearts and memories until that day that we are all brought together again.
