Richard Lyons

I met Dick when he hired me for my first job out of art school at the New England Aquarium design office. He was a great mentor and teacher. I remember his jokes and great stories about his travels in Italy and childhood in Boston. He had amazing energy and enthusiam. I remember how he loved design and could talk forever about the beauty of certain typefaces or the subtle nuances of compositions. He always brought out the best in people and created an atmosphere in the office of friendliness...

It was my pleasure to work "with" and "for" Dick at NEAq. Great memories of the daily work experience, and the "field work" in the Florida Keys, researching the design of the GOT. Our field and the world has lost a good person. My family and I send condolences to Claire and family.
