Not sure what to say?

Ric was not only a NZ that we both worked .. was a friend Will be remembered !!

Ric mentored me through an aviation career but it was less the working side of the man than those natural self-effacing attributes he brought to all, friends and colleagues alike. Simply put, he was a good man. Wicked sense of humor ; refused to take himself too seriously and always open for a drink and banter. Blessed to have Sam as a life partner and enormously proud of his family. I'll miss you Ric and our many conversations. Rest well my friend.

No more amazing stories of travels and things achieved in life. And we will miss having coffee and morning tea with him and talking about life. We miss you more than words can say and we will cherish every moment we shared together and the memories we have of you will last forever. Myles and Chamila

I first met Rick and Sam in 1980 in Auckland when Sam came to work as my PA. I have been close friends with them ever since, stayed with them in California and accompanied them on various travels and adventures. Richard was a talented man who had many and varied interests. He was a senior leader in the aviation sector for many years both in Auckland and in California, a great traveller, reader, philosopher, home handyman and avid follower of world events. He came from a military family and...

In loving memory of my much loved brother "Dick" whose life I was privileged to share. Many wonderful memories I will treasure forever His loving sister Vivienne

A wonderful man and a brilliant uncle. Warm, witty and always so full of life and laughter. Famous for his generous pours of gin and love of a good red and an energetic conversation. We learnt so much from you. We will remember the love and good times, and miss you enormously. Sylvia and Ann xx

I was fortunate to have known Richard since around 2001. Over the years, I worked for Richard and Sam on and off while pursuing my studies. Richard had a remarkable gift for encouragement and always managed to steer me in the right direction. We shared many conversations-and many coffees-talking about his fascinating life and adventures. Even after I moved on to follow my own career path, I remained close friends with both Richard and Sam. Richard helped guide me through countless...

Reading people´s warm and cherished memories of Dad reminds us all of how full & rich his life was, and how much he meant to so many people whose lives he touched. Sam, his wonderful partner, his family, friends and of course fishing and travel were a continuous joy and nourishment to Dad throughout his long happy life.I´ll miss his humor, sound fatherly advice, his adventurism and in this time of loss, remember his warmth and love for us all. He was, and always will be a unique inspiration...

Ric was a dear friend to us. Memories, from days of Mog sitting in LA and a pre-dawn dash for sunrise hot air ballooning; exceptional catch ups and dinners in London where the last train home was missed! A freezer full of Alaskan fishing bounty left for our enjoyment and searching for the elusive margarita in Mexico City. Numerous lunches and dinners in New Zealand, all precious memories. Our dearest Ricardo may be gone, but he will never be forgotten. Our deepest condolences to Sam...
