Richard Madden

I first met Dick before Mary was even born. Our families were friends for decades, even after the Maddens left Reston, VA to move to New Town. I have many memories of our times together: George taking me for a ride in his new Jeep; Mary dislocating (and breaking) her finger in a pillow fight with me while he parents were house shopping in Connecticut; a very young Mary yelling "waiter" in the middle of a very crowded Howard Johnsons dining room and watching my brother and her brother duck...

There was never a more giving and selfless human being than Richard. A man who worked and sacrificed his life for his family and friends. I'm sure he's already caring for his family in heaven. Thanks for everything to a great father, friend, neighbor, animal lover and step pa...
