I am sorry for your loss, and at the same time know that you were blessed to have a man like Dick in your lives. He was, loving, gentle, honorable -- one of the good ones. I always think of him when I sit at the table in TaborSpace (at Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church) that used to be the meal table for him and Mildred. It is a wonderful memory. I wish you peace.

While reading the obituaries a day ago, I noticed a name that was familiar to me. Upon reading the entry, I realized that it was not my boyhood friend, but rather his father. A fun night at the bowling alley but time to go.

We lost one of the great old-time salesmen in Richard "Dick" Madsen. I had the pleasure of working with him for several years and learned to appreciate his low key style, his ability to build a rapport with the customer and service the heck out of them, all the while exchanging puns and quips. And he was a good family man who had his priorities in all the right places. His sense of humor was exceptional and he could deliver punch lines as dryly as the best of them.
