Not sure what to say?

MaryLou, I just came across your husband's obituary. My sincere condolences and so sorry for your loss!! You both made a wonderful team both on Lawrence Welk and as a couple!! Have enormous respect for you both. I pray you find peace and joy in this Christmas season!! Please keep performing! Your talent and you are magical!!

Mary Lou, so sorry to hear of your loss. I hope that you and the rest of the gang are doing well.

Godspeed Richard, a long life, and thank you for the wonderful music memories, "The Lawrence Welk Show". Unforgettable. Rest Richard, until you hear at dawn, the low, clear reveille of God. Thank you for your service to this nation. U.S. Army.

Just learned of Mary Lou's loss as we watched "Music Goes Round" segment on Lawrence Welk with adorable Richard and his young wife. Tears of sadness and joy. So thankful we can feel our loved ones from that era because the two of you shared your talents with all of us. Please know there are so many fans who are sympathetic because you are treasured. The wrap-around "tabloid scrapbook memories" with Richard's 15 minutes of fame quip and your response was precious. Just like both of you.

I just watched Lawrence Welk's "Strike Up The Band" episode and learned of Richard's passing. I always loved to listen to Rich and Mary Lou on L.W.'s show. They always looked like they were having a great time! How very blessed they were to have 50 years together. I have fond memories of watching the show with my grandparents. God bless Mary Lou and her family.

A great talent. A master.

So sorry to read of Richards passing. I´ve watched him and learned on the Welk show each Saturday I´m not an orchestral bassist but I feel his methods and his sound can sure benefit someone in any genre of music. My condolences to Mary Lou RIP Richard you´ve left a great musical legacy

I grew up watching the Lawrence Welk show with my grandparents and still watch it to this day on PBS. I am so sorry for your loss. I enjoyed the show where you guys did the song it goes round and round and he was playing the tuba. Ava West

Sorry to hear Richard passing. He was a fantastic musician - bass & tuba which I felt never received recognition for his spectacular play. This place lost a very special person. My condolences to Mary Lou.
