Not sure what to say?

I was at a Christmas party the other day and having a conversation with a few Guys who are currently in the Coaching profession (High School, College, and Pros). As I listened to their comments, Coach Mann immediately came to mind. I told them that I felt (as an outsider looking in) the quality that makes the difference between being a good Coach and a Great Coach is "Temperence." When I think back, I realize that is one of the many things that, Coach Mann was trying to teach us. I...

greetings. just wanted to send love and light to all family, friends, athletes and all who knew this wonderful man. he was a staple to the heights community and as a person, as a coach and a teacher. he definitely was strict, but a more committed caring person you would be hard-pressed to find. whenever I would see him he would always speak and offer an encouraging word. one of the best. though we are not on the same plane, your memory lives on in the hearts of so many. peace and bliss...

Coach Mann was definitely a strict coach, but it was to make you a better runner. He really worked you: those repeat 440s really made you work. RIP, sir. Reading thru these entries show how many lives you touched in a wonderful way. I remember being scheduled to run in a relay at the coliseum, then I was replaced at the last minute with a slower runner. I found out a year later he had died from cancer, so coach mann gave him a chance to be in a major meet. That was a wonderful thing that he did.

I thought of Coach Mann, today,as I do often. I always valued any time we were together. He was a great coach but also a great man and friend.

I have to give you guys MAJOR PROPS for extending this! I only had a NON TRACK relationship with coach mann. He and coach cap were best friends. I benifited from him by LEARNING TO DRIVE from him! Nice family! EVERYTIME I CALLED COACH MANN, MRS.MANN gave him the phone! SWEET LADY!
I'll ALWAYS REMEMBER COACH DIGERONIMO YELLING " DICK, THE BASKET WAS GOOD! I HAD TO RUN AND TAP HIM ON THE SHOULDER A COUPLE TIMES! LOL."
PLEASE CONTINUE TO BE AN EXAMPLE FOR THE YOUTH TODAY! ALWAYS HONOR A...

"Chez", thanks for extending coach Mann's memory guest book for another year. Sort of keeps us all on track for another year. He
REALLY did influence a whole heck of a lot us, all for the better..ct

Coach Mann believed in me so I believed in myself.

Hard to think it was one year ago that I got the call that Coach had passed away. His memorial introduced many of us, reconnected others, and his legacy lives on. Thoughts and prayers to the Mann family at this milestone.

I just wanted to say THANKS TO THE FAMILY for keeping this on line for all this time! I will always hold in my heart the WONDERFUL TIMES I had with such nice people from the MANN family!
GOD BLESS YOU!
Thanks again!

After browsing the photo gallery, I had to add something else! ONE THING I NEVER SAW COACH MANN WEAR was a coat and tie! I new he ACTUALLY OWNED ONE! lol! I'll always remember the success that both girls and boys track enjoyed in the early 1990's! Coach Heard and Ledonne! Coach Mann coached coach Heard at heights! We'll let coach Heard talk about that! The stories I KNOW coach heard can tell! LOL! Coach Mann and Coach Cap dressed a lot alike I found out! WITH A LOT OF CLASS!
